Holiday Blessings

First Monday counting...

1933- a big boy toy for Mark
1934- first snow of the season
1935- pumpkin pie with a birthday candle
1936- hope
1937- shoe boxes filled with gifts for children
1938- date night
1939- turkey cookies
1940- Sunday visits with Mom and Dad
1941- deer on the driveway
1942- the smell of movie theatre popcorn
1943- sushi and chopsticks
1944- a safe cross country move for Sherri
1945- plenty of car time to visit with Cindy
1946- a pot of soup with the last of the Thanksgiving turkey
1947- handmade cards from friends
1948- Friday roses
1949-homemade chocolates and caramels from kind neighbors
1950- hand picking ornaments to place on the tree
1951- poinsettia from Kenzie
1952- Sunday brownies
1953- listening to Mark speak in church
1954- festival of lights
1955- crock pot of baked beans
1956- Jantzen standing at the sink washing dishes
1957- a beautiful Christmas tree
1958- paying tribute to Ellen's life
1959- a pretty  new table runner for the dining room
1960- the scent of an evergreen when I walk through the house
1961- rain
1962- tulips in December
1963- celebrating Yvonne's birthday
1964- hand painted salt dough ornaments
1965- cub scout service project
1966- Santa socks
1967- time with family
1968- Christmas bingo
1969- remote control helicopters flying through the house
1970- baking marathons
1971- building houses
1972- practice sessions
1973- Christmas mugs from a local potter
1974- so many good, holiday foods
1975- mancala with Kenzie
1976- sweet messages rolled up in scrolls
1977- having the family together on Christmas day

  2. I love your grateful heart, and I love the happy smiling faces of your children all together. And also, I don't feel old enough to be a former babysitter for children that are all adults now. But then, I also don't feel old enough to have a 12 year old. And that's totally about to happen. Where does time go?
